Celebrate the Cahuenga Library’s 102nd Birthday – December 8!

The Cahuenga Branch Library opened 102 years ago today, on December 4, 1916. It is one of the three remaining LAPL branches built with financial support from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie and has served East Hollywood and surrounding neighborhoods for over a century.

We’re celebrating the Cahuenga Branch Library’s 102nd birthday this Saturday, December 8! Join us for the festivities:

11:00 – 3:00 p.m.: Our twice-monthly Book Sale downstairs in the Book Sale Room – all proceeds from the Book Sale go to Friends of Cahuenga Library!

1:00 – 2:30 p.m.: Cahuenga Library’s 102nd Anniversary Celebration Program – Featuring kids’ facepainting, gingerbread house and handprint wreath craftmaking, live R&B and jazz music from Elson and the Soul Barkada and birthday cake!

3:00 p.m.: Friends of Cahuenga Library Quarterly Meeting – Want to be more involved in your Cahuenga Library? The Friends support the volunteer and material needs of the library. We also organize fundraising events throughout the year to benefit the library. Come join us!
