Cahuenga Library Appears on NBC’s ‘This Is Us’

The Cahuenga Branch Library made an appearance on NBC’s This Is Us on the episode that aired oon Tuesday, February 27. The library played “Creekside Public Library” in Pittsburgh, circa 1988 in the young Kate and Randall flashback sequence.

The show’s producers, 20th Century Fox Television, came to the library on the morning of February 6 to shoot the scenes. They even set up sone of the lighting equipment outside the building the day before.

Normally, TV or film production pays the owner of the location shoot a compensation for the trouble of filming. Since the library is owned by the City of Los Angeles, 20th Century Fox Television instead donated the $2,500 filming compensation to Friends of Cahuenga Library!

Thank you very much, 20th Century Fox Television/This Is Us!

You can watch the episode (Season 2, Episode 16 – “Vegas, Baby!”) on NBC.com here (https://www.nbc.com/this-is-us/video/vegas-baby/3672579). Our scene is at the 15:43 mark!
